The White House released additional details of President Joe Biden’s American Jobs Plan on Wednesday, one day before his scheduled stop in Cleveland where Biden will speak about the economy.
The details released by the White House focus on the plan’s efforts to renovate and build affordable housing units.
The time and location of Biden’s visit to Cleveland are expected to be disclosed to the public Wednesday evening.
White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre explained why Biden is coming to Ohio.
“President Biden is going to make a clear case that his economic plan is working,” she said during Wednesday’s briefing. “He’ll talk about how far we have come as a country because of the actions we have taken the last four months turning the tide on the pandemic, creating 500,000 new jobs each month on average, cutting unemployment claims by more than a third, raising wages and leading the development of the recovery.”
Biden’s visit to Cleveland will be his second to Ohio since being sworn in Jan. 20. Biden visited Columbus on March 23 to tour the James Cancer Hospital on the campus of the Ohio State University.
