A new video of Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad replaces Margot Robbie with Jeff Goldblum. Robbie’s turn as Harley Quinn has become iconic in the DCEU thanks to her standout performance in David Ayer’s 2016 film Suicide Squad. Harley would go on to appear in 2020’s Birds of Prey, freeing herself from her toxic relationship with Jared Leto’s Joker and going on her own all-important journey. Her most recent appearance in The Suicide Squad further solidified her emancipation and moving on from her old ways. When she meets Corto Maltese dictator Silvio Luna, it seems she may fall in love with another dangerous man, but things take a turn when she shoots him because of the red flags she notices.
Currently, it’s unclear what’s next for Harley Quinn in the DCEU, but Robbie has made it known that she’s not done with the role yet. Whether that means a Birds of Prey follow-up or a true Harley Quinn solo film remains unclear but the possibilities are endless. As a fan-favorite, it’s all but guaranteed that she’ll show up in the DCEU again and seeing as Gunn spared her life in his film while killing nearly every other member of Task Force X, Warner Bros. may have particular plans in mind for the character.
