Wrestler-turned-Hollywood star Dave Bautista has given a sweet update on the rescue dog he adopted last year. Bautista shot to superstardom in the WWE, but the six-time World Champion “took a chance” on himself by transitioning into acting, where his career eventually took off thanks to his popular role as Drax The Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The former WWE star has also diversified himself as an actor and enhanced his superstar status in Hollywood with roles in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, and Rian Johnson’s upcoming Knives Out 2. However, the actor has also gained popularity due to his big heart and outspoken love for dogs, such as his rescue dog Penny Bautista.
In September of last year, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay put out a story regarding a puppy named Sage, who was found eating rubbish while a metal chain was cutting into her neck. Bautista soon discovered this story and put out a $5000 reward for anyone that could give information on the person responsible for the dog’s poor condition. Unfortunately, there was no movement in regards to finding who was responsible. However, the puppy did receive surgery to remove the chain, and the bighearted muscle man of GOTG later revealed in an Instagram video that he adopted the puppy, renaming her Penny Bautista. Since then, the actor has posted some updates on Penny living her best puppy life and has now given another sweet update.
