With Steve Sarkisian taking over at Texas, it’s easy to get excited about the potential of the team’s offense. According to a former Heisman Trophy winner, one specific Longhorn could see his production skyrocket in 2021.
On Wednesday’s edition of ESPN’s ‘College Football Live,’ 1989 Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware was asked to identify a few potential stars in the Big 12 this year. Ware immediately went to Texas running back Bijan Robinson, who he got to see at the program’s spring game. After seeing what Sarkisian did with Alabama running back Najee Harris, he has high hopes for Robinson this fall.
“I would start with Bijan Robinson at Texas because he’s a guy where there’s a lot of hype about him coming into the season,” Ware said. “I got to work their spring game, and he is worth every bit of praise that he’s been given. They’re going to use him at Texas like they did Najee Harris [at Alabama]. If he comes anywhere close to that type of production, we will be talking about this man in the Heisman conversation by season’s end.
