As the 2021 SEC Media Days roll on, predictions are flowing in from everyone in the college football world. Former Auburn Tigers offensive lineman and current SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic made a big prediction of his own on Tuesday.
During the second day of SEC Media Days, Cubelic tweeted out his protected SEC standings for the 2021 season. There wasn’t a major surprise at the top of either division, but Cubelic did go out on a limb with some of his other predictions. Cubelic’s entire predicted order of finish can be seen below.
While most seem to believe that Texas A&M will be the primary challenger to Alabama in the West, Cubelic is apparently expecting a bounce-back year from LSU, which he has finishing second in the division. On top of that, Cubelic can see Ole Miss leapfrogging Auburn in 2021.
Perhaps the biggest surprise came in the East. Over the last few years, that division has been a battle between Georgia and Florida, but Cubelic has Kentucky throwing a wrench into the gears this fall. Along with the Wildcats moving up, the SEC Network analyst foresees Tennessee taking a bit of a step back in year one under head coach Josh Heupel.
