The Knicks are eager to see what Cam Reddish can bring to them with a change of scenery after Thursday’s trade with the Hawks.
But they’ll have to be patient before actually throwing him into the fold.
Reddish will be out “for a while” with a sprained ankle that he suffered Sunday in his final game with the Hawks, though Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said he didn’t know how long that would be.
So the No. 10 pick in the 2019 NBA draft will not get the chance to play his former team immediately when the Knicks face the Hawks on Saturday in Atlanta, but the Knicks are intrigued by what he can do once he is healthy.
“It gives us an opportunity to look at Cam,” Thibodeau said. “We’ll see when he gets here, see how he fits in and then we’ll go from there. … Size, athleticism, wing position, that sort of thing. Sometimes a change of scenery is good for people. So we’ll see how it unfolds.”
