Local nonprofit Muse has been responsible for organizing numerous shows showcasing local bands and artists in Tallahassee. On Feb. 26, I was lucky enough to attend a show Muse held in tandem with local performing arts center The Warrior On the River to host four musical acts. These included local groups Soul Candy, Strictly Liquid, Jean McQueen and Bandemic. The show was filled with incredible energy, stellar musical talent and immaculate vibes, with a pleasing variety in musical styles.
Of the bands listed to perform, I had only seen Bandemic play once before and I had never been to The Warrior on the River. Needless to say, the experience was extremely memorable and well worth the price of admission.
Located just off of West Tennessee Street, The Warrior on the River is a rustic and spacious venue. The fact that it is slightly away from the city center allows ample parking space and beautiful natural scenery. The Warrior on the River also contains a full restaurant, bar, pool table and outdoor stage area with a fantastic view of the nearby river and greenery.
