Smallville star Tom Welling broke his silence on co-star Allison Mack following her prison sentencing for her role in the NXIVM sex trafficking and forced labor cult.
At Fan Expo Vancouver, Welling was discussing the upcoming Smallville animated sequel series. In the midst of noting who was already on board and who he hoped would return, Welling said, “It might be tough to get Allison…”
Mack played Clark Kent’s best friend Chloe Sullivan in all 10 seasons of Smallville. In June 2021, the actor was sentenced to three years in prison for her role in NXIVM, which served as a front claiming to aid members in self-improvement. Mack joined the organization alongside fellow Smallville alum Kristin Kreuk (who left shortly thereafter) and was allegedly tasked with recruiting new “sex slaves” for the group’s leader, Keith Raniere. Several former members testified to witnessing women being branded with Raniere’s initials in a mock dungeon and being forced to engage in sex acts.
