Republicans refused to let up Friday in their criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris regarding her role as manager of the Biden administration’s response to the migrant crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Friday was the 87th day that Harris has not traveled to the southern border since taking on the assignment from President Biden.
On Friday night, both U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., and Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich claimed on “Hannity” that the Biden-Harris administration has been AWOL regarding the crisis.
“The closest thing [Kamala Harris] has come to the southern border is the Texas Roadhouse in Washington, D.C.,” Cawthorn quipped.
In the nearly three months since Harris accepted her migrant-crisis assignment, Brnovich noted, “about 500,000 people have crossed our southern border illegally. That’s the entire population of Minneapolis,” Brnovich added. “So this is overwhelming us from not only a national security perspective but it’s undermining our communities as drugs flow into our country. It’s having a huge fiscal impact with the Biden administration now putting detention centers right in the middle of Scottsdale, Arizona. They have a complete disregard for the people.”
